After a fun filled weekend in Greenwald and Alexandria for my friend Amy's wedding, Flavio and I concluded our Labor Day Weekend with a day at Target Field to watch my boyfriend, Joe Mauer, lead my beloved Twins to victory over the Royals and one game closer to clinching a spot in the playoffs. (Suck it White Sox!!!)
Since I've only recently returned to Minnesota, this was my first game at the Twins' brand spankin new home, Target Field. To the Minnesotans who haven't yet been to a game at the new Target Field, do yourself a favor and go - the new stadium is phenomenal. And while the new stadium isn't covered by a dingy white cloth with dozens of baseball sized holes, it is a vast improvement over the eyesore that was the Metrodome.
| Dang!!! Where did that fly ball go??? |
Thanks to Flav's fancy new job, he was able to score 6 free suite tickets to the Labor Day Game. The swanky suite not only gave us a great view of the game, but also included free food, drink and cookies!!! Needless to say, our crew, which included my brother, Robin, our friends Craig and Jill and their daughter Amelie, enjoyed the game in style.

| Mmm, Cookies.... |
And while we all had a great view of the game from the suite, Amelie clearly had the best seat in the house.
All in all, it was a great day at the ball park, and a lovely end to our Labor Day Weekend.
So, to my fellow Minnesotans, what do you think of the new Target Field?? And, do you think we can finally take it all the way??? Or are we doomed to lose once again to the Yankees in the first round of the playoffs???
See you in the comments.

holy shit i can't believe robin is a grown man!!!
ReplyDeleteso what, if anything, are they using the old metrodome for? i used to feel so 'big city' looking out on it from our dorm room, heh.
